The design process for this wall began by manipulating a household object to create a building module. The shape of the original object, a pyramid shaped standing lamp, is reflected in the metal edging of each module. Sheet of Felt were used to provide the necessary tactile contact with the user and therefore working as a dividing wall providing visual and acoustic privacy while also housing a work surface and an accompanying light that rotate out of the piece. The repetitive modules stack up the steel structure, alternating orientations to create an undulating geometric pattern. The felt provides an acoustic barrier, but also allows users to pin items into the wall for display or while using the desk surface.
